Sepsis
About the event
Sepsis accounts for more deaths than stroke and is more common a reason for hospital admission than heart attack. However, given wide variations in presentations it can be hard to spot among the majority of patients with benign self-limiting infection. Early recognition and prompt management including the Sepsis 6 is known to save lives. This session will provide updates and insights into current practice including recent revisions to NICE and international guidelines as well as provide practical insight into clinical tools to assist with the recognition of Sepsis among all age groups in community, primary care and general practice settings. It will also highlight the intrinsic to linkage between Sepsis and antimicrobial resistance, and propose that if we as a healthcare system get sepsis right we will also get AMR right
