Assessment of Skin Cancers in Primary Care

Claire is a Cutaneous Lymphoma and Melanoma Advanced Nurse Practitioner at St John's Institute of Dermatology at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Trust and is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the British Dermatology Nursing Group (BDNG). Claire is also the co-founder of the Cutaneous Lymphoma International Nurses Network (CLINN).
This session will cover key aspects of skin cancer care, including referral pathways for suspected cases, assessment and identification of benign and malignant lesions, and the risks involved in lesion management. It will also provide an overview of common skin cancer treatments and their potential side effects, along with guidance on using evidence-based resources and professional organisations to support clinical decision-making and ongoing education.
