This tailored training programe is a combination of face-to-face and online sessions to encourage participation and accessiibility. It will equip general practice staff with essential knowledge and skills to maintain high IPC standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance. It will address the unique challenges faced by IPC leads and all staff ensuring that they are well-prepared to meet Care Quality Commission and day-to-day requirements.
Day 1 -
- IPC Refresher Course
- Introduction to the role and responsibilities of IPC leads
- Practical guidance on IPC policies; hand hygiene, aseptic and wound care techniques, environmental hygiene, and safe waste disposal
- CQC preparedness, including required documentation and occupational health standards for staff
- Introduction IPC audit and audit tools for practical application
Day's 2&3 -
- Review and discussion of completed audit tools
- Group workshops to share learning, address challenges and develop improvement plans
- Input on learning priorities and planning for subsequent sessions
