This is a 3 Day course and all 3 days must be attended -

This tailored training programe is a combination of face-to-face and online sessions to encourage participation and accessiibility. It will equip general practice staff with essential knowledge and skills to maintain high IPC standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance. It will address the unique challenges faced by IPC leads and all staff ensuring that they are well-prepared to meet Care Quality Commission and day-to-day requirements.

Day 1 -

  • IPC Refresher Course 
  • Introduction to the role and responsibilities of IPC leads 
  • Practical guidance on IPC policies; hand hygiene, aseptic and wound care techniques, environmental hygiene, and safe waste disposal
  • CQC preparedness, including required documentation and occupational health standards for staff
  • Introduction IPC audit and audit tools for practical application 

Day's 2&3 -

  • Review and discussion of completed audit tools
  • Group workshops to share learning, address challenges and develop improvement plans 
  • Input on learning priorities and planning for subsequent sessions
