Affective and Psychosis Disorders

About the event

This training will provide an in-depth exploration of the signs, symptoms, and causes of affective disorders such as depression, unipolar mania, and bipolar affective disorder, as well as psychosis, including schizophrenia, psychosis associated with depression, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar affective disorder. Please note, this session builds on the previous Fundamentals of Mental Health training, so there may be some overlap for delegates attending both.

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate an overview of the multi-factorial causes of affective disorders.

  • Reflect on the significance and interrelatedness of these factors in the presentation of signs, symptoms, and impact on quality of life.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the various causes of psychosis.
