SSSA 2 Day Course
About the event
This training will equip your nurse with the fundamentals of teaching and supporting learners in practice. This will enhance the nurse's knowledge and will be a step towards becoming a nurse educator.
This course has been rebuilt from the ground up, using the 2019 NMC's Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment. The course has been re-designed to be more engaging and interactive. It is a requirement that you have access to your camera and microphone for this session, to allow you to participate to the session as if it was a normal classroom environment. There will be quizzes throughout the course to assess learning.
This is a 2 day course and both days must be attended in full and attendance will be tracked. The dates for this course can be found below -
Day 1 - 27-March-25 (day 1 covers the history of SSSA, the new roles and how to give feedback. This is an interactive session which involves discussion, and it aims to give you the tools you need to be a Practice Supervisor.
Day 2 - 28-March-25 (day 2 covers the next steps, signing off midpoint, final interviews, action plans and how to fail a student. It will equip you with the tools you need to be a Practice Assessor. The aims is for you to attend this course with the commitment to taking a student in the next 3-6 months)
Completing this course will equip you with the skillset needed to support students. Those who complete this course will be allocated a student nurse placement to host. Once you have completed this course additional follow-up sessions and guidance will be available to further support you when you are hosting students.
