Cardiovascular Disease and Hypertension

Attending this study day you will revise the cardiovascular system with onus on how CVD and CHD impair the normal functioning of the heart and circulatory system. We will consider the populations most at risk and why, and how to identify these groups earlier.

Aims of the session:

• Understand acute coronary heart disease - with a focus on angina, STEMI and NSTEMI.

• Know the signs, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment guidelines.

• Learn about the impact of hypertension, diagnosis guidelines including staging and the real impact of non-pharmacological treatment strategies.
