Update on Asthma Management for Primary Care
About the event
This study day gives you a foundation knowledge in both adults and children. This is NOT the equivalent to undertaking the course in managing patients with asthma in your practice. You will revise the respiratory system and gain a better understanding of how the condition of asthma impacts on this.

Understand and apply the diagnostic criteria for Asthma diagnosis
Demonstrate the ability to assess individual clinical competence in relation to Asthma Management
Getting an overview of diagnosis and treatment guidelines including NICE, BTS/SIGN and GINA
To identify what a good asthma review looks like
Apply the best practice guidelines in the assessment and management of asthma patients within General Practice
Smoking, depression scoring and inhaler technique
Personalised asthma action plans (PAAP's)
Treatment - stepping up and stepping down
Understanding responsible prescribing - Including the danger of overuse of Salbutamol
Demonstrate awareness of the best management and review of Asthma patients within Primary Care
