Chaperone Training
About the event
The aim of this session is to teach you the role of a Chaperone in care and clinical settings, including the current guidance along with an understanding of why a chaperone might be needed. The training involves pre-reading and post-reading materials and a short online assessment.
Learning Outcomes:
Define the term 'Chaperone'
Describe the role of a Chaperone and how you will undertake this role
Recognise the need for a Chaperone in the practice setting
Discuss what is meant by an intimate examination
Explain the rights of the patient
State how you will communicate this service to patients if required
Recognise the safeguarding issues around being a Chaperone and how to escalate concerns
Recognise and preserve the dignity, respect and privacy of the patient
