Clinical Governance Framework: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust clinical governance framework within the PCN.
Quality Improvement: Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, including audits, clinical effectiveness projects, and patient safety programs.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with national clinical governance standards, guidelines, and policies. Monitor and review clinical governance arrangements to ensure they meet statutory requirements.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage clinical risks. Implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure patient safety.
Complaints Management: Oversee the management and resolution of complaints, ensuring timely and appropriate responses that address patient concerns and improve service delivery.
Urgent Alerts: Ensure that urgent alerts, such as MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) alerts, are promptly disseminated and acted upon across the PCN.
Training and Development: Organize and deliver training sessions on clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety to healthcare professionals within the PCN.
Patient Safety: Promote a culture of patient safety. Lead on incident reporting, investigation, and learning from clinical incidents.
Clinical Audit: Coordinate and oversee clinical audits, ensuring that findings are used to drive improvements in patient care.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with PCN member practices, patients, carers, and external partners to ensure that clinical governance activities are aligned with the needs of the community.
Data Management: Ensure accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of clinical governance data. Use data to inform decision-making and improve clinical outcomes.
