Clinical Coders play a vital role within the NHS.
Clinical Coding involves translating medical terminology – recorded by clinician to describe a patient’s symptoms, diagnosis, treatment or reason for seeking care – into a nationally and internationally recognised coded format.
The coded data produced supports a wide range of functions, including health reporting monitoring standards, and meeting national requirements and targets.
