Do I need to attend every lesson?

Attendance is mandatory, we understand things happen, however, if you cannot attend for any reason then please contact your tutor.

We can reschedule your session.

We will assess your current skills, place you at the right starting point, and guide you step by step until you’re confident to move on. Many learners complete Level 1 and Level 2 in the same course, progressing at a pace that suits their ability and commitment.

The time it takes to finish Functional Skills Maths and English varies for each learner. It depends on your commitment, confidence, and previous knowledge. Most learners can complete the course within:
• 10–14 weeks with regular attendance and consistent practice
• 12–20 weeks if you need more time to build skills or study at a slower pace

Yes, you can. If you already hold a Maths qualification at the required level, you’re welcome to enrol on the English course only.

Many of our learners speak English as an additional language. We provide clear, step-by-step teaching and ongoing support to help you develop your skills and confidence. With an understanding of everyday English and a commitment to learning, you can successfully complete the course.

We offer online exams and paper based exams at our offices in Northside House, Bromley. All exams take place under normal exam conditions, which your tutors will explain fully as they prepare you for your assessment.

Depending on numbers, it could be either, but ideally, you will learn in a small online group, which helps build confidence and allows you to learn from others. Group sessions are interactive, supportive, and designed so everyone can take part comfortably. If you ever need extra help, your tutor will provide individual support and guidance to make sure you stay on track and feel confident with the work.
